Zulum Receives NDC’s Excellence And Service To The Nation Award

The National Defence College (NDC) Governing Board has presented the Excellence and Service to the Nation award to Professor Babagana Zulum, Executive Governor of Borno State.

The NDC’s Governing Board is chaired by the Honourable Minister of Defence and includes the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief of Army Staff, Chief of Naval Staff, Chief of Air Staff, and Commandant of the National Defence College. The Board is chaired by the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Defence.

The award was given out on Wednesday at the NDC’s Course 32 Dinner/Awards Night, which took place at the National Defence College headquarters in Abuja.

Prof. Usman Tar, the Borno State Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, attended the event and accepted the award on the governor’s behalf.

Speaking at the event, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu, Commandant of the College, stated that the award was given in recognition of Governor Zulum’s contribution to knowledge transfer, commitment to the fight against insurgency, and nation-building in Nigeria.

Many dignitaries attended the event, including the Special Guest of Honour, the President of the Senate, and Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio, who was represented by Senator Gbenga Daniel, a former Ogun State governor.
