Gov Otti Celebrates With Muslims At The Eid El Kabir Festival
Dr. Alex Otti, Governor of Abia State, has extended his best wishes to Muslims in the state and across the country on the occasion of this year’s Eid el Kabir celebration.
Governor Otti congratulated Muslim faithfuls on the opportunity to witness yet another Eid el Kabir festival, describing it as a significant event in the Islamic calendar and encouraging believers to emulate Prophet Ibrahim, who demonstrated complete loyalty and trust in his relationship with Allah.
According to Kazie Uko, Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Otti stated that the Eid el Kabir celebration is a festival to commemorate a man’s act of sacrifice and selfless service in obedience to Allah’s will, as demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim, who was willing to sacrifice his son without question as Allah commanded.
“As the world celebrates this important festival, I urge all Muslims in the State to emulate Prophet Ibrahim for his unwavering devotion to duty and Allah’s will; who was willing to offer his only son as a sacrifice for the benefit of all.
“I acknowledge the values of selflessness, kindness, and devotion that are central to Eid el Kabir and pray that this special time will bring us all peace, happiness, and unity.
“On behalf of the Government and good citizens of our beloved State, I extend our heartfelt greetings to our Muslim brothers and sisters in the State and communities across the country. May this occasion be filled with love, happiness, and peace.
“I also want to use this time to encourage all Abia State residents to be their brothers’ keepers, as Eid el Kabir promotes peaceful coexistence between Muslims and their neighbours, as well as love and understanding among individuals, regardless of their diverse cultures, backgrounds, and beliefs.
“As a government, this administration will continue to work hard to create equal opportunities and the necessary conducive environment for our citizens to live, work, and pursue legitimate endeavours. We therefore request the continued support and cooperation of all residents,” the Governor stated.
