Zulum Launches Senator Kaka Shehu’s Empowerment Of 1,720 People
Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has launched Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan’s 1,720-person empowerment package.
Many beneficiaries got tricycles
The flag-raising ceremony took place on Monday in Maiduguri’s Government House multi-purpose hall.
The recipients were chosen from the eight local government areas that make up the Borno Central Senatorial district.
About 500 beneficiaries got a sewing machine, 500 received a grinding machine, 250 received deep freezers, 100 received generators, 50 received block-making machines, 250 received agricultural tools, 50 received refrigerators, and another 20 received a tricycle (Keke Napep).
Meanwhile, each of the 1,720 recipients received N20,000 cash.
Governor Zulum commended the Senator for distributing the empowerment package, which he said would promote development at the grassroots level.
“Let me commend Senator Kaka Shehu Lawan for donating an empowerment package to his constituents. This would go a long way in addressing the needs of the people, particularly in challenging times like this,” Zulum said.
Senator Kala Shehu stated that the distribution was part of the campaign promise he made to his constituents. He assured that more such support would be provided to the people.
