Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has expressed his condolences to the government and people of Gombe State following tragic fire that gutted the state’s central medical store, causing damage to essential medical supplies as well as maternal and child care equipment worth over N5 billion. Zulum also expressed condolences on behalf of the government and people of Borno State for the sad tragedy. On Monday, an early morning fire destroyed the medicine storage at the Gombe State Ministry of Health’s facilities.

Zulum was shocked to learn of the fire event. He went on to say, “This is deeply distressing incident; my thoughts and prayers are with the people and Government of Gombe State.” According to the governor, “the loss of vital medical supplies of such magnitude is significant setback to healthcare delivery in the state.” He expressed optimism that Gombe State, led by Governor Mohammed Inuwa Yahaya, will overcome the setback. Zulum appealed to Allah to prevent such recurrence and to compensate for the losses.
