Chief Of Army Staff Urges Soldiers To Enhance Barracks, Cantonment Security
Major General Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), has called upon soldiers to enhance the security of barracks and cantonments.
The call was contained in a message delivered during the conclusion of the second commanding officer’s workshop in 2023.
Lagbaja emphasised the significance of building strong relationships with officers and their families to foster a sense of camaraderie with host communities and other security agencies.
“I want to emphasise that the security of your barracks and cantonments, as well as the lives and property within, is a command responsibility that you must prioritise. It is essential to cultivate good relationships with your officers, soldiers, and their families.
“Additionally, it is crucial to maintain a high level of cordiality with your host communities and other security agencies. The importance of collaboration and joint efforts cannot be overstated if we are to align with my command philosophy.
“As I officially declare the workshop closed, I extend my gratitude to the General Officer Commanding, 81 Division Nigerian Army, the invited guests, resource persons, and all the participants,” he stated.
