Two Siblings Allegedly Shot By NDLEA Agents While Chasing Drug Dealers

Members of the Delta State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) allegedly shot and killed two siblings who have not yet been recognised.

According to reports, the trouble began on Thursday, July 13, 2023, while the agents were pursuing drug dealers and allegedly fired randomly into the air in Okpanam, an area near Asaba in the State’s Oshimili North local government area.

It was learnt that the children were in their mother’s shop, a cake baker and owner of Hillsi Cakes N More Academy, after closing from school when the incident occurred.

It was gathered that a stray bullet touched the younger of them on the eye while the older one was hit on his abdomen but they have been rushed to the Federal Medical Center (FMC), Asaba, for surgery.

Reliable information on Friday, July 14th 2023, at the hospital, revealed that one stray bullet touched the abdomen, died on the same date the incident occurred.

At press time, efforts to reach the spokesman of the Command proved abortive.
