Niger Delta Ex-Agitators Forum has officially endorsed Senator Henry Seriake Dickson for re-election to the Senate in 2027.

The endorsement was announced at a gathering held today in Yenagoa, where forum leaders lauded Dickson’s performance and contributions to the region and the nation.

Speaking at the event, the forum leaders, led by General Aso Tambo kpala, stated that their support for Senator Dickson stemmed from his “relentless, fearless, and courageous efforts” in representing Bayelsa West, the Ijaw Nation, the Niger Delta, and ordinary Nigerians.

They cited his work in drawing attention to the plight of the region and his strong stance on national issues as key reasons for their endorsement.

“Senator Henry Seriake Dickson remains the best choice for us, as a people who truly desire quality and assertive leadership,” the forum stated in a press release.

They further highlighted his ability to attract much-needed attention to Bayelsa West and the Ijaw Nation.

The ex-agitators specifically praised Dickson’s vocal opposition to the purported unconstitutional removal of the Governor of Rivers State, Sir Sim Fubara, and his stance against the suspension of Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.

They declared that Dickson had demonstrated the ability to “speak truth to power” and had, in their view, filled the void left by the passing of Ijaw elder statesman, Pa Edwin Clark.

The forum also addressed what they described as “smear campaigns and attempts to sow confusion and division” within Bayelsa West by unnamed politicians allegedly sponsored by APC leaders in Abuja.

They warned these individuals that their efforts were futile, amounting to a “fight against the entire Ijaw Nation and Niger Delta.”

In a notable departure from traditional practices, the forum declared its opposition to zoning arrangements for the 2027 National Assembly elections.

They stated that any qualified individual from Sagbama and Ekeremor should be free to contest for Senate or House of Representatives seats.

They cautioned against allowing the issue of zoning to divide the Ijaw Nation and weaken its political influence.

The forum concluded its announcement with a call on the people of Sagbama and Ekeremor local government areas to disregard divisive propaganda and unite behind Senator Dickson for the 2027 elections.
