Visits Julius Berger, PrimeTech Showrooms In Abuja
The Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Dr. Dennis Otuaro, on Monday, visited the Julius Berger Nigeria Plc Associated Furniture Producers (AFP) Showroom and its industrial factory in Abuja.
This visit is part of his deliberate effort to enhance the implementation of the program’s objectives.
Dr. Otuaro also visited PrimeTech, an international firm specializing in the sustainable design and construction of buildings, industries, civil structures, roads, and infrastructure.
During the visit, the General Manager of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc AFP, Oliver Cohnen, and Julius Berger’s Head of Corporate Security and Compliance, Poul Nielsen, conducted Dr. Otuaro on a tour of the facilities.
Dr. Otuaro was accompanied by his Technical Assistant, Edgar Daniel; Special Assistant; the PAP’s Head of Vocational Training Unit, Lambert Daunemighan; and Head of Special Projects, Victor Ebikonte.
He stated that the move aims to explore avenues for the PAP to provide high-quality training to ex-agitators and beneficiaries in furniture and woodwork, as well as sustainable architectural design and engineering solutions, aligning with global standards and aesthetics.
Dr. Otuaro emphasised that his goal is to ensure that beneficiaries of such large-scale industrial training will leverage their acquired vocational skills and knowledge to contribute significantly to the socio-economic development of the Niger Delta and Nigeria as a whole.
He noted that equipping ex-agitators and beneficiaries with the right expertise in a structured environment will enable them to produce products that meet international standards and possess high marketability.
He expressed satisfaction with the exceptional finishing, creativity, exquisite design, and texture of the furniture, highlighting their potential for durability.
He reiterated that President Bola Tinubu had mandated him to bring the program closer to the people of the region.
According to Dr. Otuaro, seeking appropriate facilities to train and retrain youths in critical vocational trades is crucial to fulfilling the President’s vision.
Dr. Otuaro said, “My interest is that our youths add value to the socio-economic growth of the Niger Delta and the country.
“They can achieve this effectively by acquiring high-quality training that empowers them to be beneficial to themselves, the region, and the nation.
“I decided to undertake these visits to personally assess the facilities and make informed decisions regarding the vocational initiative I have for ex-agitators and beneficiaries of the PAP in furniture, woodwork, and design.
“I am impressed with the top-class industrial equipment, high-quality furniture, and the expansive factory I have observed here, along with their international appeal.
“This indicates that if our people acquire the right vocational skills here, they will be able to produce furniture of international standards.
“President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, has given me a mandate to bring the program to the people, and that is what I am doing. This initiative is part of the deliberate plans to achieve that mandate.”
