Soludo made this statement during his swearing-in ceremony for a second term in office on Tuesday at Dr. Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka, the state capital.

He noted that, having been elected and re-elected by the people, he is committed to transforming Anambra into a hub for technology and industry, comparable to Dubai or Taiwan’s Silicon Valley.

According to Soludo, “Since the people of Anambra have employed me, and based on my performance have re-elected me for a second term, I have no choice but to deliver the improvements they desire.

This time around, I will prioritise enhancing our security and power supply, building on the progress we’ve already made with infrastructure.”

Vice President Kashim Shettima, alongside former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan, Chief Emeka Anyaoku, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, and several state governors – including Siminalayi Fubara – attended the event.

They described Soludo as a technocrat and assured him of the federal government’s partnership in achieving his goals during his second term.

The governor was sworn in alongside his deputy, Onyeka Ibezim. Soludo’s return to office follows a decisive victory in the governorship election held on 8th November 2025, as declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Running on the platform of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), he secured 422,664 votes, defeating his closest rival, Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), who garnered 99,445 votes. Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) came third with 37,753 votes.

Of the 16 candidates who contested the election, Soludo achieved a sweeping victory, winning in all 21 local government areas of the state. Official figures show that Anambra had 2.78 million registered voters, with just under 600,000 accredited voters and over 595,000 valid votes cast.

The inauguration marks the beginning of another four-year term for Soludo, as he continues to lead the governance of one of Nigeria’s most economically vibrant states.
