Hana Nur: Blending Ancient Rituals With Tech To Redefine Beauty
With over 22 years of experience and multiple awards, Hana Nur is a leading voice in the beauty and wellness industry. As CEO & Founder of Innovare, she is pioneering a new era of skincare. In this interview with THE NEWSHAUS, she explores her approach to creating transformative products and Innovare’s upcoming launch in Nigeria and Africa.
Who is Hana Nur?
I am the Founder & CEO of Innovare. As an award-winning skin specialist, product developer, and entrepreneur with over 22 years in the beauty and wellness industry, my vision is to merge ancient beauty rituals with cutting-edge technology to create luxury skincare and devices that redefine how people experience self-care.
Can you tell our audience a bit about your background?
My journey began with a passion for healing. From a young age, I was fascinated not just by outer beauty, but by how the human body functions and how true wellness radiates from within. I studied Chinese medicine, herbal medicine, and various healing therapies, and this holistic approach became the foundation of my career.
I began working hands-on with clients, helping them transform their skin and confidence through treatments that blended ancient practices with modern science. Over the years, I’ve served more than 60,000 clients, developed innovative techniques, and received five British Hair and Beauty Awards, solidifying my position as a trusted leader in the industry.
How did you enter the beauty business and achieve expertise in cosmetology products and machines?
It wasn’t only skin that fascinated me – it was the entire human body, its healing ability, and the way beauty reflects health and balance. My curiosity led me to study cosmetology, advanced skin treatments, and machine technologies.
I was driven to merge my knowledge of ancient rituals, herbal remedies, and body healing with the latest innovations in beauty devices and formulations. This journey allowed me to create cosmetology products and high-tech machines that are not just cosmetic but deeply transformational.
Which global cosmetics brand has made the most significant impact on the industry, in your opinion?
I admire Estée Lauder for pioneering luxury cosmetics and Shiseido for blending tradition with innovation. However, I also believe the next wave of impact will come from brands that combine technology, sustainability, and cultural authenticity—and this is precisely where Innovare is leading.
What is your educational background?
Education has always been a great passion of mine. I hold over 30 certifications and diplomas spanning advanced beauty therapy, skin science, holistic health, acupuncture, herbal medicine, and infection prevention. My studies have taken me across Western medical practices and Eastern traditions, giving me a truly global perspective on healing and beauty.
For me, learning has never been a duty; it’s a joy. I’m constantly excited to gain new knowledge, and this curiosity fuels Innovare. Every product and device we create is born from research, study, and the pursuit of innovation.
Where do you see Innovare in the next few years?
Innovare will become a global luxury powerhouse in the beauty industry. I envision the brand expanding across Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and the US, establishing itself as the “Apple of Beauty” – blending intelligent technology with daily rituals in a way no other brand has yet achieved.
In what way do you want Innovare cosmetic products and services to impact Nigeria and Africa?
Africa is rich in beauty, heritage, and natural wealth. Innovare aims to celebrate this by creating products that empower people to embrace their natural beauty with pride. We aim to move away from harmful practices, offer safe and luxurious alternatives, and simultaneously support economic development through job creation and training in beauty and wellness.
Can you tell us what makes Innovare Cosmetics’ product ranges for Women and Men the standout products of the future?
Innovare’s ranges stand out because they are built on ritual, science, and luxury. For women, ranges like Cleopatra and Bilqis revive ancient beauty traditions with modern efficacy. For men, our HORACE collection elevates grooming into a ritual of power and sophistication. These aren’t just products; they are experiences of transformation designed for the future.
What influenced your creative genius, which led to Innovare, and what gives you the will, focus, and drive to keep improving your products?
My creative drive comes from history and heritage. I am inspired by legendary figures like Cleopatra and the Queen of Sheba, who used beauty as a form of power and ritual. I wanted to bring that energy into the modern world.
What keeps me going is seeing the impact on my clients – how their confidence grows, how their skin heals, how they carry themselves differently. Innovare isn’t just a brand; it’s a mission to transform people from the inside out.
Are Innovare products going to be affordable once they enter the Nigerian and African market?
Innovare is a luxury brand, but accessibility is important. We will offer different ranges at various price points, ensuring that while some collections remain prestige, others will allow more people in Nigeria and Africa to enjoy the Innovare experience without compromising on quality.
When do you intend to set up cosmetics outlets and spa experiences in Nigeria and across Africa?
Our vision includes opening Innovare Ritual Spas and flagship outlets in Nigeria within the next 3–5 years, making it a hub for our expansion across Africa. These spaces will combine high-tech treatments with heritage-inspired rituals, offering something completely new to the market.
What are some of the biggest celebrities you have worked with?
I’ve been fortunate to work with a wide range of celebrities from music, fashion, and film. Some of my long-term clients include Letitia Grace, who has featured in multiple TV programs, artists such as Not3s, Miss Banks, and Suspect, and actress Jasmine Jobson from Top Boy.
I have also worked with Avelino and many more – from artists to actors and actresses. These aren’t one-time visits; many of them are regular clients who continue to trust me for their treatments and skincare. Their loyalty is a true reflection of the results and care Innovare provides.
How long has Innovare been around, and what’s your clientele size like in the UK and Europe?
Innovare has been in development for several years, with official launches rolling out recently. In my career, I’ve worked with over 60,000 clients across the UK and Europe, building a strong base of loyal customers. Innovare is expanding rapidly and drawing international interest.
Do you think Innovare products would have added another layer of experience for high-profile weddings like Davido’s or Temi Otedola’s?
Absolutely. Innovare products are created to elevate life’s most important moments. For weddings like these, our rituals would have prepared the skin and body for ultimate radiance, confidence, and presence – making unforgettable events even more extraordinary.
What Nigerian and/or African celebrities do you know of?
I admire many, including Tiwa Savage, Burna Boy, Genevieve Nnaji, and Omotola Jalade. Africa has an abundance of talent, and these icons represent the excellence Innovare stands for.
Which Nigerian celebrities do you look forward to experiencing your products’ exceptionality?
I would love for stars such as Tems, Wizkid, and Davido to experience Innovare. They embody global excellence while remaining connected to their roots, which aligns perfectly with Innovare’s vision.
Does Innovare Cosmetics have a non-profit impact project for Nigeria or Africa?
Yes. Innovare is developing projects focused on women’s empowerment, beauty education, and vocational training, alongside campaigns for healthy skin practices. We want to contribute to communities, not just sell products.
Nigeria is renowned for being the bleaching capital of the world; what’s your advice for those bleaching their skin?
My advice is: embrace your natural skin. Skin bleaching causes long-term harm and weakens the skin. Innovare is committed to celebrating every skin tone and providing safe, luxurious alternatives that bring out the best in natural beauty without damage.
What’s your beauty routine like when you wake up?
I begin with hydration and gentle cleansing. I then apply our LumaCell Elixir for radiance, followed by a massage or one of our beauty devices to boost circulation. My mornings are also about setting intentions – beauty is as much about mindset as it is about skincare.
Any beauty, wellness, and exercise tips for women to stay beautiful and fit like you?
Consistency is key. Drink water, eat antioxidant-rich foods, and move daily – whether it’s exercise or mindful walks. For beauty, create a ritual you enjoy so it becomes a lifestyle, not a chore. And above all, practice self-love – how you speak to yourself is reflected in your beauty.
What global niche market do you see Innovare taking over?
Innovare is pioneering the luxury tech-beauty market, where intelligent devices meet high-performance skincare. It’s a niche with few leaders, and we are positioned to dominate it.
Is there a timeline for Innovare to launch in Nigeria and Africa?
Yes. Our roadmap includes launching in Nigeria within the next 2–3 years, before expanding across Africa. Nigeria will be our anchor because of its strong cultural influence and appetite for luxury beauty.
How much R&D is invested into producing the unique formulas that make up the Innovare Cosmetics range?
Every Innovare product goes through years of research and development. We combine dermatological science, advanced technologies, and ancient herbal wisdom. Our formulas are tested not only for performance and safety but also for luxury experience – ensuring that every product feels transformative.
