More Salah after scoring against Totteham on Sunday evening

The Reds showcased a clinical edge in front of goal, with Luis Diaz bagging a brace, and Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai also finding the net.

While Spurs, managed by Ange Postecoglou, fought back valiantly with goals from James Maddison, Dejan Kulusevski, and Dominic Solanke, Liverpool largely controlled the tempo of the match.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the game, Salah acknowledged the team’s attacking brilliance but highlighted the need for defensive improvements.

“We were quite good in front, but defensively I think we need to improve as a team – not just individually,” he said.

“We conceded three goals, and it’s quite hard. Virgil, me, and Ali spoke about that. It’s quite a good result, and hopefully, we just keep going.”

Salah praised Tottenham’s intense style of play, recognising the challenge they posed: “They have the way they play. They don’t change it much. It’s quite intense, and you can see [Manchester] City came here and struggled, and some other teams came here and struggled.

“I’m really glad we managed to win the game because they play a very intense game.”

The Egyptian King also reached a personal milestone, achieving double figures for both goals and assists before Christmas.

While acknowledging the achievement, Salah remained focused on the team’s success: “I didn’t think about it before the game to be fair, but I’m glad I did it. [It’s] something that makes me happy. I’m proud and I’ll just keep working hard.”

Salah’s performance also saw him move into fourth place on Liverpool’s all-time goalscorer list. While acknowledging the significance of the achievement, he humbly stated, “Of course, it’s something great to achieve. It’s such a big club, Liverpool. But again, the most important thing is we won the game, but to have that achievement is great.”

When asked about potentially surpassing Ian Rush’s record, Salah playfully noted the differences in the game’s eras, expressing respect for the Liverpool legend.

The victory leaves Liverpool four points clear at the top of the table at Christmas, a testament to their attacking prowess and a clear indication of their title ambitions.

However, Salah’s comments highlight the need for defensive solidity as they look to maintain their winning streak.
