Zamfara: State Of Emergency In Education, Has Raised Standard, Says Gov Lawal
Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has declared that in the previous years, Zamfara has been at the bottom for many years in education, saying “We have consistently vied with Yobe for the last position”,
Receiving the governing council of the Federal College of Education Technical (Female) Gusau that paid him a courtesy visit, Governor Lawal said that based on that, a state of emergency was declared in the education sector.
“Last year, I declared a state of emergency in the educational sector of Zamfara due to its challenges, as over the past three years, the previous government failed to pay fees for the NECO and WAEC exams.
According to him, the performance of our students in the NECO entrance examination for gifted students was excellent, as our dear state, Zamfara, emerged as the best-performing state in the entire North and the second-best in the whole country.
“We are dedicated to ensuring every child has access to quality education, and we are renovating and constructing over 290 schools throughout the state”, he added.
The Chairman commended the wife of the Governor, Hajiya Huriyya Dauda, for sponsoring 20 students in the college and awarded three computers to the top three graduating students.
