Gregory University Uturu Performs Well In NUC Accreditation Exercise
In line with Gregory University Uturu’s excellent track record in previous accreditation endeavours by the National Universities Commission (NUC), the high-flying institution has again posted a massively impressive showing in a recent evaluation and re-evaluation exercise of some courses conducted by the regulatory agency.
In a letter to Gregory University Uturu’s Vice Chancellor, the NUC, through her acting Director of Accreditation, Engr. Abraham Chundusu, communicated the outcome of the accreditation exercise conducted on the institution’s 16 courses between October and November 2023.
According to the letter, 13 of the 16 programmes assessed received commendable ratings of ‘accredited’ or ‘full accreditation,’ while the remaining three, which had just matured for evaluation, were given ‘interim’ accreditation.
Civil Engineering, Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Geology, Anatomy, Physiotherapy, Radiography and Radiation Sciences, Education Mathematics, Education Biology, Education Chemistry, French Language, History, and International Studies are among the courses that have been fully accredited.
The letter went on to say that while programmes such as M.Sc. Accounting and M.Sc. Business Administration were accredited, Architecture, Pharm D, and Optometry, which were being evaluated for the first time, were typically given interim accreditation ratings.
In response to the assessment results, Gregory University Uturu’s acting Vice Chancellor, Prof Celestina Njoku, praised the NUC for a job well done while pledging the institution’s commitment to maintaining a healthy mutually beneficial relationship with the regulatory agency.

Gregory University Uturu currently offers 57 highly competitive NUC-accredited programmes across ten colleges and a School of Postgraduate Studies.
