The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Abbas Tajudeen, PhD, has congratulated Muslims in Nigeria and around the world on the completion of another Ramadan and encouraged them to pray for their country.

Ramadan fasting, observed by Muslims around the world, began on Monday in many countries, including Nigeria, following the sighting of the moon.

The Speaker stated that there is no better time to pray for Nigeria than during the Holy Month, claiming that the country requires divine intervention more than ever before.

Abbas also urged all Nigerians, not just Muslims, to pray for the country’s unity and for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration’s ability to address the nation’s numerous socioeconomic and security challenges.

In a statement issued by Musa Abdullahi Krishi, Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, the Speaker also urged Nigerians to remember in their prayers those who have been kidnapped by various armed groups across the country and are still held captive.

“May Almighty Allah (SWT) accept our prayers and supplications as an act of Ibadah, and grant us the grace to navigate this turbulent time as a nation,” he stated.
