USA Group Demands Immediate Suspension Of Ribadu Amidst Escalating Terror, Allegations Of State Complicity
The Save Nigeria Group (SNG) USA has issued a blistering condemnation of Nigeria’s spiralling terror violence and the systemic breakdown of its security apparatus, presenting a series of urgent demands to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
The organisation expressed profound alarm over credible allegations suggesting internal compromise within Nigeria’s security forces. This includes disturbing reports of state-linked security channels and potentially the Office of the National Security Adviser (NSA) being involved in supporting terrorist elements.
In light of these grave accusations, SNG USA is calling for the immediate suspension of National Security Adviser Mallam Nuhu Ribadu, along with any other officials implicated in the allegations.
This demand is predicated on deeply troubling accounts emerging from Kwara State, where a captured Fulani Islamist militant, reportedly identified as a member of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), is alleged to have confessed to receiving weapons and logistical support traceable back to state-linked security channels.
“If these allegations are even partially true, they constitute a monumental betrayal of public trust, a catastrophic breach of national security, and potential crimes against humanity,” stated SNG USA in a strongly worded press release.
“Instead of emergency parliamentary hearings and independent investigations, the Nigerian Government’s response has been a dangerous silence, reinforcing public fear, distrust, and the growing perception of institutional impunity.”
SNG USA highlighted the pervasive and devastating nature of the ongoing security crisis, citing a litany of concerning incidents:
Repeated mass kidnappings of schoolchildren and worshippers.
Persistent attacks targeting Christian communities and vulnerable Muslim populations.
Coordinated acts of violence across Niger, Kogi, Kwara, Benue, and Plateau States.
A near-total absence of accountability for perpetrators and those who enable them.
According to SNG USA, this disturbing pattern points not to isolated criminal acts, but to a “widespread and systematic failure of state protection, with clear hallmarks of religious persecution and ethnic cleansing, particularly in the Middle Belt.”
In response to this critical situation, the Save Nigeria Group USA has outlined eight unequivocal demands for the Federal Government:
Immediate Suspension of NSA Nuhu Ribadu: SNG USA implores President Tinubu to demonstrate decisive leadership by suspending Mallam Nuhu Ribadu and any other officials implicated in these allegations, pending a thorough and comprehensive investigation.
Independent National and International Investigation: A credible, independent probe, featuring the participation of international security experts and human rights organisations, is urgently demanded. This investigation should scrutinise allegations of arming, shielding, or enabling terrorist groups, as well as examining security sector complicity or gross negligence, and potential crimes amounting to religious persecution, mass displacement, and crimes against humanity.
International Criminal Court (ICC) Alert: The group is formally placing the International Criminal Court on notice, asserting that the scale, persistence, and discernible pattern of violence in Nigeria, especially where state complicity is alleged, meet the threshold for international criminal review.
Immediate Rescue of All Kidnapped Victims: SNG USA insists on the immediate deployment of all available state instruments to secure the release of the 37 ECWA church members kidnapped in Kogi State and the remaining 165 Catholic schoolchildren held captive in Niger State.
Protection of At-Risk Communities: An urgent, all-of-government security surge is demanded to safeguard communities in Benue and Plateau States, where credible intelligence indicates planned large-scale terrorist attacks for Christmas Day. The group also vehemently condemned the brutal killing of 12 tin miners in Bokkos, Plateau State, on December 16, 2025, declaring, “Enough is enough. The killings must stop—now.”
Emergency Humanitarian Response: The Federal Government is called upon to provide immediate federal and international food aid for the millions of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), noting that SNG USA’s own relief efforts have been severely strained and overwhelmed.
Public Disclosure of Terrorism Sponsors: SNG USA reiterates its long-standing demand for the Federal Government to immediately publish the names of all individuals, entities, and networks identified as sponsors, financiers, or enablers of terrorism, citing a pervasive lack of transparency and accountability that fuels impunity.
Presidential Address to the Nation: President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is implored to deliver an immediate address to the nation. This address should acknowledge the severity of the crisis, outline concrete security actions, directly address the allegations of internal compromise within security agencies, and provide a firm assurance to all Nigerians that no official or financier of terror is above the law.
SNG USA asserts that Nigeria stands at a historic crossroads. The group believes that history will meticulously record the choices made today regarding justice or impunity, reform or collapse, and the protection of life or complicity in death.
The organisation has vowed to remain a persistent and vocal advocate for the rights and safety of the Nigerian people.
