Julius Berger Hailed For Impeccable Record, Zero Complaints From Public Complaints Commission
Julius Berger Nigeria Plc, a leading construction firm, has received high praise from the Federal Capital Territory’s Public Complaints Commission (PCC) for its spotless track record.
The PCC praised the company for its unwavering adherence to regulations and outstanding management of community relations, particularly compensation issues.
During a courtesy visit to Julius Berger’s headquarters on Wednesday, PCC Commissioner Hon. Musa Dikko praised the company’s “near-perfect” project execution.
“Our joy is that every construction done by Julius Berger Nigeria Plc is nearly perfect,” Dikko said, adding the qualifier, “I say ‘nearly’ because they say no one is perfect.”
Dikko praised Julius Berger’s exemplary approach to compensation, emphasising the company’s prompt and equitable treatment of those affected by its projects.
“Julius Berger’s approach sets it apart from other construction companies, making people feel at ease when compensation is required,” he observed.
This consistent fairness, he noted, has resulted in a complete lack of complaints to the PCC about the company’s conduct. “There can be no development without peace, and Julius Berger deserves an award for this,” Dikko declared.
Irene Chuka Ogbogu, the PCC’s State Director of Investigation, shared Dikko’s sentiments and praised Julius Berger’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives and commitment to due diligence.
In response, Alh. Dr Abdulaziz Kaita, Julius Berger’s Director of Administration, acknowledged the positive collaboration with the PCC and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to protecting workers’ and community rights.
The CEO emphasised the company’s dedication to following legal and ethical guidelines. Our cooperation with the PCC has benefited both parties.”
Kaita also highlighted Julius Berger’s significant role as a major employer in Nigeria’s construction sector, emphasising the company’s responsibility to its employees and the communities in which it operates.
He assured that the company maintains strong internal policies to ensure due process in all of its operations.
Both the PCC and Julius Berger reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining a strong partnership, fostering public trust, ensuring compliance, and contributing to the ongoing development of Nigerian infrastructure.
