VP Shettima, Zulum, Others Attend Funeral Of Former Borno Senator’s Mother

Thousands of dignitaries, including Vice President Kashim Shettima and Borno State Governor Babagana Umara Zulum, attended the funeral prayer for the mother of Baba Kaka Bashir Garbai, former senator representing Borno Central.

The Imam Idaini of Borno, Shettima Mamman Saleh, led the prayer at the Shehu of Borno’s palace on Tuesday.

Hajja Zainab Abba Bashir, 82, died early Tuesday morning at a hospital in Maiduguri.

The deceased left behind numerous children and grandchildren.

The traditional rulers, led by the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin Elkanemi, include the Shehu of Dikwa, Ibrahim Ibn Umar Elkanemi, Waziri of Borno, Mutawali Shettima Bukar, and numerous council members.

Former Governor Ali Modu Sheriff, Ambassador Babagana Kingibe, APC Deputy National Chairman Ali Bukar Dalori, Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume, Minister of Agriculture and Food Security Abubakar Kyari, and Abdulkarim Lawan, Speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, were also in attendance.

Alhaji Bukar Tijani, the Secretary to the Borno State Government, led members of the Borno Executive Council.
