Business Leaders Confirm Participation At The SSABIS, Investment Summit In September.
Following the success of the previous edition of the United States Africa Summit, the annual Sub-Saharan Africa Business and Investment Summit (SSABIS), a United Nations General Assembly signature side event, has been officially confirmed to take place at the historic 583 Park Avenue, East Side.
The September 25, 2024 Summit, themed “Building a Sustainable Future,” aims to secure long-term US and African public/private sector trade and investment projects in this era of unprecedented global challenges and profound change. It will capitalise on recent years’ momentum by concentrating on investment opportunities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Executive Director Joyce Halliday Rogers said, “It is with great excitement that we bring SSABIS to New York and unleash the power of Africa’s private sector.” “It is in the strategic interests of both Africa and the United States to foster broader and deeper business relations.”
The summit organisers announced that after the summit, there will be an evening dedicated to networking and developing business relationships.
“We believe it is the right time for America and the global community to participate in
Joyce Rogers Halliday, SSABIS’s Founder and Executive Director, believes that new opportunities exist for African businesses to thrive in the United States and around the world.
Halliday emphasised that SSABIS is all about “making deals and engaging in lively, practical discussions that focus on what is important—growing investment in Africa, the United States, and the global community at large.”
Several Presidential and Ministerial delegations have already confirmed their attendance at the Summit, as have selected US officials from the Department of State, Congress, USAID, and Prosper Africa, as well as business leaders from a variety of industries.
SSABIS is an international trade and investment partnership that promotes trade and foreign direct investment in Sub-Saharan Africa.
The organisation is led by a team of experts in public-private partnerships, global trade facilitation, business development, private equity, government relations, and civil society organisational leadership.
