A Nigerian-born activist, Kio Amachree, President of Worldview International, said he had escalated a series of international petitions to the Secretary General of INTERPOL in Lyon, France, alleging concerns relating to money laundering and asset acquisitions linked to Seyi Tinubu, son of Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In a detailed statement released to the Press, Amachree said he had previously submitted complaints to multiple international agencies, including the FBI, the UK Serious Fraud Office, the UK National Crime Agency, Sweden’s security service SAPO, and the United Nations, as part of what he described as a broader effort to raise concerns about governance and corruption involving officials and associates of the Nigerian government.

He stated that his latest communication to INTERPOL was also copied to several UK authorities, including the National Crime Agency, the Serious Fraud Office, and the UK Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

Central to his claims is the acquisition of a London property worth around £9 million, which he said was purchased through an offshore company.

He further said that the transaction is connected to proceeds from a larger fraud case previously reported in international media investigations. However, these claims have not been independently verified by law enforcement authorities.

Amachree referenced legal mechanisms in the United Kingdom, including Unexplained Wealth Orders, arguing that such tools could be used to investigate the source of funds used in high-value property acquisitions.

He cited previous international cases involving politically exposed persons to support his argument for stronger enforcement action.

He also suggested that INTERPOL processes, including the issuance of Red Notices, could potentially lead to detention and extradition proceedings in jurisdictions where such notices are enforced.

However, INTERPOL does not itself issue arrest warrants, and any action would depend on requests from member states and domestic legal processes.

The Nigerian government and Seyi Tinubu have not issued any response to the latest allegations at the time of this report.

Amachree said his actions were part of what he described as a long-running campaign for international accountability and insisted he is “filing formal complaints through proper legal channels.”
