Mothers Deserve To Be Celebrated, Says Rev. Elijah-Irozuru
The thoughts of Motherhood and the values they carry have been described as enormous and worthy of celebration, commendation, and recognition.
Speaking at the 2026 National Women’s Ministries Day, the Senior Pastor of the Assemblies of God Church, Umuawa Alaocha, Umuahia North (Jerusalem) District Rev Elijah C. Irozuru, noted that nothing can compare to the selfless sacrifices, toiling and labours of love of mothers who patiently nurture their children from the cradle to the Olympian heights of greatness.
He used the forum to salute women who impacted his life and all mothers of AG Nigeria and AGC Umuawa Alaocha for their resilience and purposeful service to God.
In her welcome address, the leader of the Women Ministries, Rev. Mrs. Lozie Elijah-Irozuru, thanked God for enabling the women to strengthen the bond of unity among them.
Reflecting on the theme, breaking barriers to our responsible and faithful service, she enjoined Christian Women to step out of their comfort zone and rise above challenges with courage and determination.
In her goodwill message, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Dr. Mrs. Maureen Aghukwa, commended AG Women’s unwavering commitment to spiritual growth, family development and community transformation.
Dr. Mrs. Aghukwa stated that the state government remains committed to creating an enabling environment where women can thrive and fulfill their potential.
Preaching on the topic: Faithfulness in Service, the Guest preacher, Rev. Mrs. Ngozi Akaniro, reminded the women that God created them to serve him in spirit and in truth and cautioned them against taking the privilege for granted.
Rev. Mrs. Akaniro, who took her text from Zechariah Chapter 4, verses 5-7, encouraged the women to set their priorities right, looking unto Jesus for strength to overcome barriers that militate against effective service to God, relying on His Grace that makes all things possible to succeed.
The service featured praise and worship, kingdom dance, playlet, and distribution of wrappers to all the women by the Senior Pastor, Rev. Elijah C Irozuru, to mark the occasion.
Deacon Uzoma Isiakpu, a retired Permanent Secretary of the Àbia State Civil Service, Mrs. Ugochi Ihediwa, a former State Director of Information, and Chief Uzomba Ekwuribe, a retired Director of Information in Àbia State, attended the service.
