Mrs. Obiora Urges Ethnic Nationalities To Embrace Peaceful Coexistence
The founder of the foremost Igbo Women Foundation, “Odimma Umuada Igbo Prestigious Women Foundation” (OUIPWF), has called on Nigerians to embrace peace as a roadmap for enduring national development.
Promoting national peace and unity, Mrs. Obiora, a renowned philanthropist, urged ethnic leaders to avoid bitterness and incitement against one another to ensure an enduring peace and harmonious cohabitation.
The esteemed woman leader was speaking at a praise and worship thanksgiving event organised by OUIPWF to mark the commencement of their 2026 activities.
Indeed, it was a remarkable day last Saturday, 21 February 2026, at 12 Okota Road, Lagos State.
Our correspondent reports that miracles, healings, and deliverance took centre stage as the foremost Igbo Women Foundation, popularly known as “Odimma Umuada Igbo Prestigious Women Foundation” (OUIPWF), an affiliate of the Unique Diamond Women Foundation, uniquely kicked off their 2026 empowerment and humanitarian programmes by seeking God’s guidance through fasting and prayer.
The founder, popularly known as Onaedo, explained that she decided to organise the event in appreciation of God’s protection and faithfulness during the Yuletide of 2025.
She emphasised the importance of starting the Foundation’s activities in 2026 by first seeking God’s face through abstinence, praise, and prayer.
The fasting, which started at 6 am and concluded around 2 pm, was followed by praise and worship led by invited gospel artists from the Davidic Gospel Singers Group, including Brother Izuchukwu David Godwin, Obi Perpetual Chidinma, Ichu Mercy, and Celestina Odu.
Ministering at the event, Pastor Brother Henry Ugwumba of Saint Mulumba and David Catholic Church in Lawanson, Surulere, Lagos State, centred his sermon on God’s mercy and grace towards humanity.
He encouraged the women to be the salt and light of the world, illuminating the lives of their husbands, children, families, and society at large.
He praised the Foundation for its vision and unity, particularly for its philanthropic efforts to assist those in need within the community.
In an interview with journalists, Chief Mrs. Obiora called for peace and peaceful coexistence in the country.
Focusing on women empowerment and outreach to the poor and needy, she revealed that as part of the highlights of the Foundation’s programme in 2026, it would organise various outreach activities and pay courtesy visits to patrons, matrons, corporate institutions, agencies, and government bodies.
Onaedo, who has established herself as a leading philanthropist, emphasised that her Foundation would conduct humanitarian activities, reaching out to patients in hospitals and assisting the poor, widows, and the less privileged.
Speaking as the special guest of honour, Mrs Tochukwu Esther Chinyere (Chelsea), Welfare Officer 2 of the Balogun Business Association (BBA) at the Trade Fair Complex, thanked the women for their organisation and encouraged them to be more prayerful, noting that women are endowed with a special grace.
Urging the women to unite, she expressed her admiration that they have awakened to raise their voices in seeking women’s emancipation and empowerment.
