Hensard University Mourns Bayelsa Deputy Governor Lawrence Ewherudjakpor
*Remains Buried On Friday, January 30th
The Hensard University community has expressed profound sorrow at the passing of Bayelsa State’s Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewherudjakpor who will be buried in Ofoni, Local Government Area of the State on Friday, January 30th.
The announcement of his death came as a shock not only to his family and close colleagues but also to the broader community of Bayelsa and Nigeria as a whole.
The university extended its deepest condolences to the university’s Chancellor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, to the grieving family of the late Deputy Governor, and the government and people of Bayelsa State. We mourn the loss of a truly selfless, dedicated, honest, and loyal public servant and politician.
Senator Ewherudjakpor was widely regarded as one of the most esteemed figures in Nigerian politics, recognised for his exceptional intellect, competence, and deep devotion to the welfare of his constituents.
His unwavering commitment and integrity distinguished him among his peers in politics, earning him respect and admiration across various sectors of society
Dr Ewherudjakpor stood out as one of the finest among his political peers, embodying a rare combination of competence, intellect, loyalty, and selflessness.
In his time as Deputy Governor, Ewherudjakpor was known for his steadfast duty, even in the face of adversity that could have jeopardised his political career. It was the same attitude he had as Commissioner for Works and Senator for Bayelsa West.
His ability to navigate complex challenges and remain loyal to his principles and constituents solidified his status as a cherished leader in Bayelsa.
The university highlighted that his extraordinary intellect and emotional maturity made him an irreplaceable asset to our community.
His passing has left a deep void in the hearts of many who felt or heard about the impact of his leadership and kindness.
We mourn this tremendous loss, acknowledging that the void left by his departure will be profoundly challenging to fill.
As tributes continue to pour in from different people and organisations, it is evident that Dr Ewherudjakpor’s legacy will endure through the lives he touched and the principles he stood for.
While we are devastated by this unexpected and untimely loss, we will forever cherish Dr Ewherudjakpor’s legacy of honest, dedicated, and principled service to God and humanity.
The university calls on all who knew Dr Ewherudjakpor to honour the extraordinary life of a man whose dedication to public service will surely be remembered for generations to come.
Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends, and all who were touched by his life and work.
As Bayelsa and the nation converge to bury Dr. Ewhrudjakpor, Hensard University remains committed to honouring the memory of a distinguished leader who dedicated his life to serving others.
