A strong show of support for Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s re-election bid unfolded as former Minister of Aviation, Chief Osita Chidoka, his wife, Barrister Chidinma, and his younger brother, Hon. Obinna Chidoka, former representative of the Idemili North/South Constituency in the House of Representatives, led Obosi stakeholders and community members in a road show.

The event, a demonstration of their unwavering support for Soludo, attracted over 1000 demonstrators who commenced their march from the residence of Chief Linus Mgbakogu (Attah Obosi) at Little Wood Estate.

They proceeded through Ukwu-Udara Bus stop, Eke market, and Nkwo market, Obosi, before concluding the road show at the Chidoka compound, all while chanting, “Four plus four, equals eight years for Soludo.”

Throughout the approximately three-hour road show, participants wore vests and face caps emblazoned with the inscriptions: “Soludo must go for a second tenure” and “4+4 equals 8.”

Among the stakeholders participating were members of the Obosi royal cabinet, including Chief Mgbakogu (Attah Obosi), Chief Hyman Udemba (Akamkposi Obosi), and Chief Chuma Muoagom (Ojoma Obosi).

Also present were Nze Tochukwu Obienu, immediate past Chairman of Obosi youths, and Chief Ekene Ebuzeme (Ikenga Oba).

Addressing the stakeholders after their return, punctuated by dancing, Chidoka stated that after assessing Governor Soludo’s performance during his first term of nearly four years, they found it necessary for him to pursue a second tenure.

This would allow him to complete his ongoing initiatives and then peacefully hand over power to someone from the Anambra Central Senatorial zone, which is considered the next in line after the present Anambra South Senatorial zone where Soludo originates.

Echoing Osita Chidoka’s sentiments, Hon. Obinna Chidoka and immediate past Obosi youth leader, Obienu, stated that Obosi indigenes across party lines had been seeking guidance from them, their political leaders. They had been patient until this opportune moment to clearly indicate the path to follow.
