Ukachukwu Advises Ndi Anambra To Be Cautious About APGA’s Proposed Civil Tax Bill
By Chuks Eke
Prince Nicholas Ukachukwu, Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the November 8 gubernatorial election, has warned Ndi Anambra to be wary of the proposed Civil Tax Bill being prepared for passage into law by the incumbent All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA-led government in the state.
He said that a reliable source from the federal tax office revealed to him that as soon as the bill is passed into law, residents of Anambra state would be forced to pay through their nose, on top of their ongoing lamentations against the already existing multiple taxation in the state
Ukachukwu who disclosed this at St. Luke’s Anglican Church, Okpoko in Ogbaru Local Government Area in continuation of his campaign tour of different parts of the state, maintained that he heard from a grape vine that as soon as the drafting of the bill is completed, the exevutive arm would lobby the state legoslators to give it accelerated attention and passage into law so that both landlords and tenants would be paying some percentage of the house rents as tax, for example.
He therefore urged Ndi Anambra to vote APGA out of office on November 8 to escape what he described as the incoming triple taxation geared towards tormenting the masses and assured that once he wins the election and becomes the governor, the bill will never see the light of the day as he would tear it into shreds and throw it into the trash bin.
He also warned the electorate against vote buying, as federal troops would be deployed to arrest both the buyer and seller for a seven year jail term, adding that they should not be deceived by the ongoing collation of names by APGA government with a promise to pay the voters and buy their votes with government money as according to him, such collation of names would end up going into computer for tax payment.
He promised to recover all public funds misappropriated and wasted by the outgoing APGA-led administration at the appropriate time.
He urged the electorate to try APC by voting him into power because APGA has failed woefully to develop Anambra over the years, but rather worsened the situation in the state by unleashing all manners of non-state actors to harass Ndi Anambra up and down.
“My blueprint is to introduce the Agric chain, build factories, and stabilize the security of lives and property”, said Ukachukwu.
