Igbo Nation Celebrates Senator Mbata’s Election As Ohanaeze President General, Prof. Ibe Pledges Support
Uturu, Abia State – Senator Mbata’s election as the 13th President General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide has sparked widespread celebrations throughout Igboland.
The historic victory, achieved by voice vote, is significant for the apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, especially given Senator Mbata’s background as the first President General of Ikwerre in Rivers State.
Professor Gregory Ibe, Enyi Abia and Founder/Proprietor of Gregory University Uturu, extended his heartfelt congratulations to the newly elected leader, praising his impactful career in politics, policy, and diplomacy.
Prof. Ibe said in a statement today that Senator Mbata’s election demonstrates his leadership skills and suitability for the demanding position.
“I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Senator Mbata on his historic emergence,” Prof. Ibe stated.
“The voice vote is a strong endorsement of his abilities, demonstrating the widespread trust that he inspires among the Igbo people.”
Prof. Ibe emphasised Senator Mbata’s background, noting the high expectations placed on his leadership.
“As the first President General from Ikwerre, there are high expectations,” he said.
“However, I am confident that Senator Mbata’s vast experience will equip him to meet these expectations and effectively steer Ohanaeze Ndigbo towards achieving its mandate.
“The renowned academic and philanthropist emphasised his unwavering support for the new President General.
“I assure Senator Mbata of my unwavering partnership and support in achieving our people’s common goals and objectives,” Prof. Ibe declared.
He urged all Igbos to rally behind their newly elected leader, emphasising the value of collaborative effort in achieving common goals.
Prof. Ibe’s statement emphasised the Igbo nation’s critical situation. He emphasised the importance of unity and collaboration in creating an inclusive Nigeria free of discrimination, segregation, and marginalisation.
“Senator Mbata’s leadership is critical at this pivotal time,” he said. “His wealth of experience and expertise will prove invaluable in promoting and projecting our people’s unity, cultural heritage, and socioeconomic development.”
