Uniport Teaching Hospital Says Burna Boy Did Not Pay All Patients’ Bills

The University of Port Harcourt Teaching Hospital has denied reports that musician Burna Boy paid all medical bills for patients during a recent visit.
Acxording to The Punch report, the hospital clarified that the music star only paid the bills of specific patients at the facility, despite claims that he covered all outstanding bills.
This follows several blogs and news sites reporting earlier this week that Burna Boy had paid the hospital bills for all of the patients.
Elabha Meni, the institution’s spokesperson, made the clarification in a statement issued in Port Harcourt on Friday.
“We appreciate Burna Boy’s generosity in financially assisting select patients in our hospital to offset their bills during his visit on June 11.
“However, contrary to reports claiming that all patients’ bills at UPTH were paid during the visit, only a few patients received cash gifts or donations.
“The hospital did not receive direct payments from the musician and his team on behalf of patients to support this commendable course of lowering healthcare costs,” Meni explained.
Meni praised the musician for his charitable act to assist those in need in society.
