Klopp To Allow Eriksson To Fulfill His Last Wish, To Coach Liverpool For A Day
Liverpool Manager Jurgen Klopp has said publicly that he will allow former manager and loyal Reds fan Sven-Goran Eriksson, who has “at best one year left to live”, to coach Liverpool for one day.
The football world is still processing the words of Sven-Goran Eriksson. The former coach and national team manager said he has “at best one year to live” due to pancreatic cancer.
In the interview where he confirmed the terrible news, he also said he had a score to settle in the dugout: “I’m a Liverpool fan, so I’ve always wanted to be their manager, and that’s not going to happen, but I’m still a Liverpool fan.
The words have reached the ears of Jurgen Klopp, who is ready to fulfil one of the Swedish coach’s last wishes before his death. “I know him without knowing him, we never met. It was obviously very touching news when you heard about it,” Klopp told a press conference.
“The only thing I can say is absolutely he’s very welcome to come here and he can sit in my seat in my office and do my job for a day if he wants. That’s no problem. Being on the sideline might be a little more difficult.
To have him here and show him everything and how this wonderful club developed over the years. I think that’s definitely something we will tell him.
He can come over and have a few wonderful hours here I’m sure,” concluded the Liverpooll boss.
