As the state’s previous governor, Ngige said he started building a vast network of well-maintained roads with the intention of them lasting up to 25 years. He also mentioned that the majority of the roads he built during his brief tenure as governor, which began in 2003, are still in place today.

Speaking to reporters over the weekend at the 2nd Ofala festival of HRH, Igwe Gerald Mbamalu, the traditional ruler of Ojoto, Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State, Ngige stated that the people of Anambra State now expect Soludo to maintain the crumbling parts of the roads and then build new ones so that they can reap the benefits of democracy.

Ngige charged that certain state governors were embezzling the security votes from their respective states.

In response to the development, Ngige voiced his displeasure, saying, “State governors should use security votes to stabilise security in their respective states.”Certain governors have changed security votes from being pocket money to personal funds.

“It is intended to preserve their states’ or their homeland’s security balance. Governor Charles Chukwuma Soludo is attempting to improve security, though.”

Though I have told him to do more, this governor is making an effort in the area of security. In the same way that information and publicity are similar, security is also a financial investment that yields results even though the results are not immediately visible. Stability in security will lead to prosperity because it will stimulate economic activity.

“The sit-at-home movement and other actions by state actors disguising themselves as Nnamdi Kanu to commit crimes have caused economic instability in the Southeast zone for the past eighteen months.”

“So, the governor of Anambra is attempting. He is making an effort, and he has infrastructure as well, but I will counsel him on maintenance culture, which is similar to preventive medicine. It costs less money to prevent a disease than to treat an individual. They will survive an additional ten years if you maintain them. The ones I built are now 20 years old,” he revealed.
