Access Bank Opens Campus Branch At University of Ibadan
The University of Ibadan campus was on Tuesday enveloped by excitement when Access Bank Plc launched a new state-of-the-art branch at the university.
Chizoma Okoli, Deputy Managing Director, Retail South, Access Bank Plc, stated that the university was chosen as part of the bank’s strategy to reach young people with its reliable financial products and services at the branch’s opening.
Okoli said, “We in Access Bank are very passionate about the youth. The University of Ibadan is one of the campuses where we believe that we can create an impact among the youth. For us, it is all about sustainability, creating impact in the community and being part of the overall economic movement of Nigeria.
“UI is one of the campuses we have targeted and we will be in all the campuses as time goes on. We are very excited about this journey. We want the youths to understand that it is important to be part of the growth of their community.”
Victor Etuokwu, Deputy Managing Director, North, Access Bank Plc, a graduate of the university, said in a statement at the unveiling that it was exciting to see the results of the path to the branch’s establishment, which began in 2017.
Etuokwu urged university students and other community members to take advantage of the variety of goods and services provided at the bank branch to advance their academic and commercial endeavours.
“Access Bank is a bank that enables people to fulfill their ambitions. We like to play a role in youth development and empowerment.
“With a customer base of over 60 million customers (and growing), we are the largest retail bank in Nigeria and Africa. Access Bank operates through a network of more than 600 branches and service outlets, spanning 3 continents and over 13 countries, hence positioning us as the number one bank to contact for all your financial and lifestyle transactions.
“Access Bank’s expansion to Ibadan and in particular, to this campus, is an expression of our desire to contribute to national development and we can’t do that without having something to do with the youths.
“We are excited to be here. We have the ambition to bank every person in this community, both academic and non-academic. We want you to use this facility to your advantage,” he said.
Professor Kayode Adebowale, the university’s vice-chancellor, praised the bank for placing the branch inside the campus community and expressed hope that the community would benefit from the facility’s student-friendly amenities.
“This is the first time we have seen this kind of facility within the university community,” Adebowale remarked. We’ve toured the entire facility, and we can already see how helpful it will be, especially for students. This is because every facility is designed with students in mind, and I can already imagine how much fun it will be for staff members and other residents of the campus as well.
The Bank’s regional director, South West, Bolaji Aboderin, indicated the branch’s willingness to offer its clients services other than banking.
In addition to the opening of an Access Bank branch at the University of Ibadan, he stated, “Today marks a significant advancement in our commitment to servicing the thriving city of Ibadan and its distinguished inhabitants. As we open this branch today, we reaffirm our commitment to giving students, employees, and companies nearby the University easy access to financial services.
