Senator Omisore Assures APC Ekiti Scound Victory
National Secretary of All Progressives Congress (APC), Senator Iyiola Omisore has assured the people of Ondo State that Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu would soon be back from the medical leave.
He stated this on Friday while on a “solidarity visit” to Akure, Ondo State capital, telling the people that Akeredolu would resume office “to continue attending to the development needs of the people.”
According to a statement made available to newsmen in Akure by Alex Kalejaye, State Publicity Secretary of APC, Omisore urged the people to continue praying for the governor, saying he would return after having sufficient rest
The APC chieftain met with the Acting Governor, Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa, State Chairman, Ade Adetimehin, members of the State Working Committee, Secretary to the State Government, Princess Oladunni Odu, Chief of Staff, Chief Gbenga Ale, Members of the House of Assembly, Commissioners, and other top government officials.
Commenting on the statement credited to the National Chairman of the party, Senator Abdullahi Adamu on Akeredolu’s health, Omisore regretted the twist in the chairman’s statement.
He explained, “Mr. Chairman only urged people to pray for the quick recovery of your governor; not on account of being incapacitated
“Our visit, therefore, is to reinforce the position of the National Secretariat that we only prayed for the quick recovery of Arakunrin Akeredolu SAN, and not otherwise.
He further assured that the national secretariat is on the same page with the State, and would always offer support, when necessary.
Earlier, the State Chairman of the party, Mr. Adetimehin, dismissed the insinuation that the state chapter is in crisis, insisting that the party is as united as ever under the leadership of Akeredolu. Adetimehin explained that the State is still savouring its enviable contributions to the party’s victory at the last presidential election and has no place for bickering.
In his response, the Acting Governor, Hon. Lucky Ayedatiwa, appreciated Omisore and his team, for taking the pain to visit on solidarity ground.
He lamented the alleged twist of facts in the statement credited to the party’s national chairman, calling on journalists to always crosscheck, when in doubt, to avoid embarrassing and misleading people.
Omisore was accompanied by APC Deputy National Secretary, Mr. Festus Fuanter, National Vice Chairman (North Central), Hon. Bawa Muazu, and National Vice Chairman (South West), Hon. Isaacs Kekemeke.
