#Abia 2023: Prof. Ikonne Buys Guber Nomination Form
 
																								
												
												
											Frontline academia and former vice chancellor of the Abia State University, Uturu,a Professor Eleazar Uchenna Ikonne on Wednesday, March 30, picked the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship expression of interest and nomination forms to contest for the Abia State gubernatorial primary election.
He was accompanied by key Abia State government officials including former Director-General of Ikpeazu Governorship Campaign Council, Elder John Nwagborogwu, and Hon. Cosmos Ndukwe, amongst others.
Ikonne, in his remarks after picking the forms assured Abia people that under his watch as Governor, Abia State so far,  known for its peaceful disposition under Governor Okezie Ikpeazu, will continue to witness effective governance.
Ikonne, an Optometrist and a career academia rose from the  lecturer’s cadre to  serve as Vice-Chancellor,  Abia State University, Uturu. Earlier, he served as Rector, Abia Polytechnic
He has put in 36 years of service as an academia and was recently appointed Chairman, Optometrists and Dispensing Opticians Registration Board, ODORBN by President Mohammadu Buhari
He comes from Isiala-Ngwa North LGA, in Abia Central Senatorial District.
