Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has welcomed coordinators and members of the Obidient Movement from across the country, describing their commitment to democratic change as vital to the party’s vision.

In a statement posted on his Facebook page on Sunday, Senator Dickson said he received the delegation alongside members of the National Working Committee of the NDC. He thanked them for their dedication to democratic change, particularly as demonstrated during the 2023 general elections and in the period thereafter.

He urged the Obidient Movement members to liaise with their respective state chairmen to ensure full integration into the NDC structure nationwide.

“I told them that I appreciate what they are doing, especially from my background as one who has been in the opposition trenches from a very young age and consistently since 1998 till date. I encouraged them to continue to do their best and assured them that the NDC is in safe hands,” Senator Dickson wrote.

The party also welcomed a prominent Bayelsa entrepreneur and politician, Hon. Diepreye Abaye Leghemo, popularly known as ‘Dangote of Bayelsa’, into its fold. The National Chairman of the NDC was present for the reception.

Senator Dickson thanked Leghemo for joining the NDC, which he described as “the right vehicle for our people”, and urged him to continue advancing the ideals and vision of the party.

In a further sign of growing grassroots support, the NDC received a vehicle donation from a young party supporter from Kano State. Senator Dickson expressed gratitude to the donor and to all those who have supported the party through various contributions since its launch, praying that God would replenish their resources abundantly.

“The growing support and influx of patriotic Nigerians into the NDC from across different movements, backgrounds, and regions is a strong indication that our people are united in their desire for a better, more just, and prosperous Nigeria,” Senator Dickson added.
