Hensard University Gets ISSN, DOI Registration For Three New Academic Journals

Hensard University, Toru-Orua, Bayelsa State, has achieved a significant milestone in academic publishing with the successful acquisition of Online and Print International Standard Serial Numbers (ISSNs) for three of its scholarly journals from the National Library of Nigeria (NLN), as well as Digital Object Identifier (DOI) registration through Crossref.

The journals are the Hensard Journal of Environment (HJE), Hensard Journal of Policy, Economics and Development (HJD), and Hensard Journal of Health Governance and Digital Transformation (HJHG).

The achievement was coordinated by Dr. Zubair Islam, Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Science and Editor-in-Chief of the Hensard Journals.

Following the successful publication of Volume 1, Issue 1, the journals are now accepting manuscripts for Volume 1, Issue 2, with a submission deadline of July 31, 2026.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sudakha Kota, commended Dr. Islam for his dedication in establishing the journals and advancing the university’s research profile.

The founder of Hensard University, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, also congratulated Dr. Islam on the successful submission of printed copies of Volume 1, Issue 1 to the National Library of Nigeria, describing the achievement as an important step in the university’s pursuit of academic excellence.

The journals support Senator Dickson’s vision of developing Hensard University into a leading research centre for climate change, environmental sustainability, public policy, economics, finance, and health research, with particular focus on the Niger Delta, malaria control, immunisation, and national development challenges.
