Julius Berger Delights Gov. Fubara Over Port Harcourt Ring Road Project
Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has expressed his satisfaction with the progress of work being done by leading engineering construction company, Julius Berger Nigeria PLC, stating that the company has significantly aided his government’s efforts to develop the state.
Governor Fubara made these remarks during an unscheduled inspection visit to the ongoing Port Harcourt Ring Road project, including the Creek Bridge.
According to the Governor, speaking at the conclusion of his visit amidst enthusiastic applause from community members and residents along the route, “I am satisfied with what Julius Berger is doing on this project.
“You can see and feel the speed and positive changes taking place. Thank you, Julius Berger, for this and for other projects you are undertaking across the state. The people clearly appreciate your work.”
Regarding the project itself, he said work on the five flyovers of the Ring Road is nearing completion. He also noted that construction of the Creek Bridge, which his government considers critical for facilitating the movement of people and goods between communities, has begun and will be completed with the same speed and quality for which Julius Berger is known.
Adding that the days of relying on canoes and boats to cross the river will soon be over, Governor Fubara urged residents to continue cooperating with Julius Berger to ensure the company delivers high-quality work.
The Governor confirmed that the 50.15-kilometer Port Harcourt Ring Road project is on track for completion by October 2026.
Following the inspection, the Governor assured the public that the contractor is making significant progress and that the project, which traverses five local government areas, is receiving sustained funding to meet the deadline.
The project aims to alleviate traffic congestion and improve urban infrastructure in Port Harcourt.
Initiated in 2023, the project is a priority infrastructure development under Governor Fubara’s administration.
