NDDC Mourns Passing Of Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has expressed profound sorrow over the death of Bayelsa State Deputy Governor, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, PhD.
In a condolence message released by the NDDC Board, Management, and staff, they conveyed their heartfelt sympathies to the government and people of Bayelsa, highlighting the deep impact Ewhrudjakpo’s tenure had on the state’s development.
In a significant gesture of respect for the late Deputy Governor, the NDDC has postponed the commissioning of various projects that were scheduled for December 16, 2025, in Bayelsa State.
This decision reflects the organisation’s recognition of Ewhrudjakpo’s unwavering dedication to his role and the people he served.
Senator Ewhrudjakpo, remembered as a man of integrity and a tireless work ethic, held various impactful positions during his career, including his role as Commissioner for Works in Bayelsa, where he was instrumental in driving infrastructural advancements.
His subsequent election as a Senator representing Bayelsa West further solidified his commitment to the region, demonstrating not only competence and vision but also an enduring passion for the welfare of his constituents.
The NDDC commended Ewhrudjakpo for his humility, sincerity, and patriotism, asserting that his leadership style exemplified integrity and simplicity, serving as a motivating force for others in public service.
The commission emphasised that his legacy of selfless service would continue to inspire future generations.
In their closing remarks, NDDC Chairman Mr. Chiedu Ebie and Managing Director/CEO Chief Samuel Ogbuku, Ph.D. extended their thoughts and prayers to Ewhrudjakpo’s family, urging comfort and fortitude in the wake of this irreplaceable loss.
They concluded the tribute with a heartfelt wish for the gentle soul of Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo to find eternal rest in the presence of the Almighty.
