Israeli Embassy Hosts Sarussi, Detzelman In Abuja, Lagos
The Embassy of Israel in Nigeria has hosted renowned Israeli violinist Nir Sarussi, alongside composer & jazz pianist Leonid Detzelman, during a recent cultural visit to Abuja and Lagos.
Sarussi and Detzelman celebrated for their exceptional musical artistry and dynamic performances around the world, engaging with rooms filled with music enthusiasts from different nationalities in Lagos and Abuja, respectively, delivering electrifying performances that had the entire audience thrilled and enthralled.
According to a statement by the Israeli Embassy, the project served as part of the Embassy’s ongoing efforts to deepen cultural exchange and strengthen bilateral ties.
During the visit, the duo delivered captivating performances where they both performed some famous songs like Afrobeat singer, Rema’s ‘Calm Down’, Somewhere Over the Rainbow from the movie, the Wizard of Oz, amongst many other hit songs.
Sarussi and Detzelman also conducted an interactive Masterclass with some instrumentalists, both children and adults, at a reputable Music School in the FCT.
The synergy and energy of the musicians and the instrumentalists’ skills highlighted the power of music as a universal language capable of fostering mutual understanding and collaboration between nations.
The statement read: The Embassy of Israel in Nigeria is appreciative of Sarussi and Detzelman’s visit and hopes that this deepens the cultural diplomacy, strengthens the friendship, and further fosters cooperation between Israel and Nigeria.
