Seventeen House Of Reps Switch Allegiances To NDC

A significant shift in the composition of the House of Representatives occurred today as seventeen members announced their defection from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC). The announcements were made during a full sitting of the House on Tuesday.

In further development, Leke Abejide also confirmed his move, switching from the ADC to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The lawmakers moving to the NDC are: Yusuf Datti, Uchenna Okonkwo, Adamu Wakili, Thaddeus Attah, George Ozodinobi, Lilian Orogbu, Oluwaseyi Sowunmi, Peter Aniekwe, Mukhtar Zakari, George Oluwande, Munachim Umezuruike, Emeka Idu, Jesse Onuakalusi, Ifeanyi Uzokwe, Afam Ogene, and Abdulhakeem Ado.

The reasons behind these moves remain unclear at this stage, but are likely to be discussed further in the coming days.
