Ama-ano Nsulu Community Presents Eze Udo 11, Chief Chinonyerem Dimgba, To Isiala Ngwa North LGA

The Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Ambassador Innocent Chiedoziem Uruakpa, has assured the people of Ama-ano Nsulu Autonomous Community that his administration will transmit their request and all necessary documents to the appropriate authorities and the state government.

This action will facilitate the recognition and presentation of the staff of office to their Eze-elect, Chief Chinonyerem Dimgba, Eze Udo 11, by the state government.

Ambassador Innocent Uruakpa gave this assurance after the Eze-elect was presented to him by the Chairman of the Ama-ano Nsulu People’s Assembly, Chief Barr. Cyprian Ogwumike, and the elders of the community at the Council Chambers on January 20, 2026.

The Isiala Ngwa North Council boss congratulated the Eze-elect, Chief Chinonyerem Dimgba (Nwachinyreugo), on his election. He also commended the people of Ama-ano Nsulu for the peaceful and transparent manner in which they elected their traditional ruler.

Earlier in their address, the Chairman of the Ama-ano People’s Assembly, Chief Barr. Cyprian Ogwumike, stated that the community had complied with the relevant Chieftaincy Laws of the state and the Constitution of the community in conducting the election that produced the Eze-elect.

Chief Ogwumike, who was represented by Dcn. Uzoma Isiakpu, a retired Permanent Secretary of the Abia State Civil Service, informed the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa and his team that the Eze-elect, Chief Chinonyerem Dimgba, secured 63 votes against the 35 votes polled by his rival, Chief Kelechi Alwell Amajuoyi, to win the election.

According to Chief Cyprian Ogwumike, the election was free, fair, peaceful, and its outcome was acceptable to all.

Chief Ogwumike added that after the declaration of the result by the Chairman of the Screening/Election Committee, Dr Chibuzo Emereuwa, Chief Chinonyerem Dimgba was formally presented to the community as the Eze Udo 11 elect and was given a certificate of return.

The Chairman of the Ama-ano People’s Assembly used the occasion to commend the State Governor, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, and the Isiala Ngwa North Mayor, Ambassador Innocent Chiedoziem Uruakpa, for uplifting the traditional institution.

He noted that the institution has received a boost since the inception of the present administration and pointed out that the Ama-ano autonomous community will continue to support the performing administration of the governor.

He urged the Mayor of Isiala Ngwa North to make his recommendations to the appropriate authorities to facilitate the recognition and presentation of the staff of office to the Eze-elect, Chief Chinonyerem Dimgba, as the Udo 11 of Ama-ano Nsulu Autonomous Community.

Speaking after his presentation to the authorities of Isiala Ngwa North LGA, Chief Chinonyerem Dimgba, Udo 11 elect of Ama-ano Nsulu, thanked Ambassador Innocent Chiedoziem Uruakpa for the warm reception accorded to the community.

He assured the Mayor that his reign would be peaceful and would usher in progress and development.

Eze-elect also promised to ensure that his subjects would support government programs and policies.

The colourful Ezeship presentation, which attracted a large crowd from the community and its neighbours, was witnessed by several eminent personalities.
These included Hon. Chief Jude Obasi, Supervisory Councillor for Education, Youth, and Sports in Isiala Ngwa North LGA; Dr. Steven Orikara, Director, Pharmacy Department, Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia; two former Councilors who represented Umunna Nsulu Ward 11, Hon. Pastor Chinweikpe Dimgba and Hon. Prince Nnoye Ndubuisi; Chief Christopher Osuagwu Ukaibe, an Estate Agent; Chief Ginika Ubani, Village Head of Ikputu; Chief Emenike Obioma, Village Head, Umuodeche; and Mr. Gershon Nwoche, former Village Head of Ikputu, among others.
