The coach of Rangers International Football Club of Enugu, the Flying Antelopes, Kene Ekechukwu, has expressed the hope that his team will beat visiting Remo Stars in Week 29 of the ongoing Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, to be decided at Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium on Sunday.

Ekechukwu, who made the declaration on Friday at a pre-match briefing with sports writers, said that his team is upbeat to beat any team in the remaining games.

He said that what is giving Rangers an edge in the second stanza of the league is that they recruited new players as well as have a dedicated technical crew.

According to him, every player in the team is a star, and they don’t regard anyone as the pillar of the team, adding that no one is indispensable, including members of the technical crew.

“We recruited 90% of our players, and we have a dedicated technical crew.  This is why we are doing well in this second stanza of the league.

“In Rangers, everybody is a player.  In Rangers, everybody is an attacker,” he said, pointing out that what A can do, B can equally do.

“Nobody has a particular role in Rangers; we work as a team to achieve a common goal,” he said, adding that virtually all the players are scoring goals, even from the defence.

Emphasising that all the players are stars, the coach said that Iwundu, who plays in the defence, has scored up to six goals in the season, while some scored seven and five.

Asked if the team is bedeviled with financial crisis, Ekechukwu said that they are financially buoyant.
