Nigerian Diaspora Celebrates Amanda Azubuike’s Historic Promotion To Brigadier General In US Army

Abuja, Nigeria – Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has extended heartfelt congratulations to Brigadier General Amanda Azubuike on her historic promotion in the United States Army.

In a statement issued Sunday by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Head of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols at NiDCOM, Dabiri-Erewa praised Azubuike’s accomplishment as a symbol of dedication, resilience, and outstanding service.

Brigadier General Azubuike was born in London to a Nigerian father and a Zimbabwean mother, and his story is a source of great pride for Nigerians around the world. She joined the United States Army in 1994 and pursued a career as an aviator after successfully completing the Army Aviation Officer Basic Training Course.

Her distinguished career has included a variety of important positions, including platoon leader, flight operations officer, and public affairs officer. Currently, she is the Deputy Commanding Officer of the United States Army Cadet Command.
