Nigerian Diaspora Celebrates Amanda Azubuike’s Historic Promotion To Brigadier General In US Army
Abuja, Nigeria – Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman/CEO of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), has extended heartfelt congratulations to Brigadier General Amanda Azubuike on her historic promotion in the United States Army.
In a statement issued Sunday by Abdur-Rahman Balogun, Head of Media, Public Relations, and Protocols at NiDCOM, Dabiri-Erewa praised Azubuike’s accomplishment as a symbol of dedication, resilience, and outstanding service.
Brigadier General Azubuike was born in London to a Nigerian father and a Zimbabwean mother, and his story is a source of great pride for Nigerians around the world. She joined the United States Army in 1994 and pursued a career as an aviator after successfully completing the Army Aviation Officer Basic Training Course.
Her distinguished career has included a variety of important positions, including platoon leader, flight operations officer, and public affairs officer. Currently, she is the Deputy Commanding Officer of the United States Army Cadet Command.
Dabiri-Erewa emphasised the profound significance of Azubuike’s promotion, writing, “Amanda’s elevation to Brigadier General not only shatters glass ceilings but also highlights the invaluable contributions of Nigerians in the diaspora to global advancements.”
The NiDCOM Chairman emphasised Azubuike’s inspirational success, urging Nigerians around the world to emulate her perseverance and dedication to excellence in their respective fields.
The promotion is a powerful testament to Nigerians’ potential and achievements on the international stage.
