EezeeTee, Mercy Chinwo’s Manager, To Face Fraud Charges On Valentine’s Day
Ezekiel ThankGod, also known as EezeeTee, the business manager of renowned gospel artist Mercy Chinwo, will appear before Justice Alexander Owoeye of a Federal High Court in Lagos on Friday, February 14, 2025.
He is facing charges of financial exploitation brought by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC).
The arraignment comes after Justice Owoeye issued a bench warrant last week following an ex parte application filed by EFCC lawyer Bilikisu Buhari.
While the initial hearing date of January 24th was postponed due to insufficient preparation by EezeeTee’s legal team, led by Monday Ubani (SAN), the well-known lawyer assured the court of his client’s voluntary appearance.
Ubani claimed that his client was unaware of the initial summons.
The charges against EezeeTee stem from allegations of financial mismanagement, with Pearson Consulting’s independent audit report serving as key evidence.
According to the report, gospel artist Minister Judykay’s $264,000 was diverted. This discovery, made following a thorough review of financial records, has been forwarded to the EFCC and is an important part of the case against EezeeTee.
This is not the music producer’s first accusation; the EFCC is also looking into other allegations involving artists signed to his record label.
The upcoming Valentine’s Day arraignment is a significant development in the ongoing investigation, promising to shed light on EezeeTee’s financial dealings and the consequences for the artists he manages.
Given EezeeTee’s prominence in Nigeria’s gospel music industry, the case is expected to garner a lot of attention.
