The Ikemba Front, an All Progressives Congress (APC) pressure group in Anambra State that supports the late Ifeanyi Uba’s posthumous governorship ambition, has fired several key officials for endorsing a rival candidate, Sir Paul Chukwuma.

Following a meeting in Awka, the group issued a statement dismissing Dr. Chiedu Okoye (Ogazi Umunri) and Dr. Charles Ebolue, the former National Youth Leader who now resides in Finland.

The statement, signed by National Secretary Ike-Obiegbu Ijeobi and presided over by National Coordinator Sir Arinzechukwu Awogu, described the endorsement as a “jamboree” carried out by “imposters.”

The Ikemba Front reiterated its unwavering commitment to the current zoning arrangement, insisting that the governorship remain in Anambra South Senatorial Zone for two terms (eight years).

They emphasised that this arrangement has resulted in power shifting from the Central to the North, and now to the South Senatorial District.

To replace the sacked officials, the group appointed Prince Nonso Obi as the new National Youth Leader, while Ijeobi remained National Secretary and Comrade Obi Ibegbunam was appointed National Assistant Secretary.

A 20-member “Elders Council” was also established as the group’s highest decision-making body, chaired by Prof. Melie Onyejegbu and Secretary Hon. Obidi Nwabueze.

The Ikemba Front concluded by reaffirming its support for the APC and its dedication to promoting good governance and the interests of the Anambra people.
