NDDC Attributes Recent Successes To God’s Benevolence
The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has attributed its recent achievements to divine intervention.
This was the central message delivered at the Commission’s annual Thanksgiving Service held at its headquarters in Port Harcourt.
Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, speaking at the service organized by the NDDC Christian Fellowship, emphasised the importance of gratitude.
He stated that the Commission’s successes, including the inaugural Niger Delta Stakeholders Summit, were a testament to God’s faithfulness.
“We have every reason to thank God,” Ogbuku declared. He highlighted the unprecedented nature of several recent initiatives and credited the dedicated staff’s prayers and support for their success.
He also announced plans for a dedicated chapel on the Commission’s premises for future Thanksgiving services, fulfilling a promise made last year.
This new facility, he explained, will be “for the good of the people of the Niger Delta.”
The sentiment of gratitude was echoed by several other speakers. Provincial Pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Port Harcourt, Mr. Remi Odebode, urged NDDC staff to cultivate thankfulness in all circumstances, emphasising the power of praise in attracting divine blessings and overcoming challenges.
Mr. Alabo Boma Iyaye, Executive Director of Finance and Administration, reiterated the Commission’s commitment to honoring God, attributing continued blessings to divine favour.
Mr. Patrick Ekade, Director of Administration and Human Resources, expressed thanks for the Commission’s overall successes, while NDDC fellowship Pastor, Mr. Udoma Sabbath, specifically recognised God’s hand in appointing a new board and CEO deemed “humane and eager to make a difference.”
The event underscores the strong faith-based ethos within the NDDC and its leadership’s belief in the role of divine providence in the Commission’s ongoing work.
