Matawalle Lauds Tinubu’s Economic Reforms Amidst Northern Criticism
Abuja, Nigeria – Dr. Bello Muhammad Matawalle, Minister of State for Defence, has praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s economic policies, describing them as crucial in reviving the country’s economy.
In a press release issued today, Matawalle singled out the President’s tax reforms as a key driver of this positive shift.
Matawalle acknowledged ongoing criticism, particularly from some sections of Northern Nigeria, and urged critics to take a more optimistic view.
He called for national unity and unwavering support for President Tinubu, highlighting the President’s commitment to revitalising the economy through various policies and reforms.
“Nigerians must stand united behind Mr. President,” Matawalle said. He explained that the tax reforms are intended to create a more equitable system, increasing government revenue while easing the burden on citizens and small businesses.
According to the Minister, the reforms will simplify tax administration, creating a more business-friendly environment that encourages entrepreneurship and innovation.
Beyond economic reforms, Matawalle emphasized significant improvements in national security under President Tinubu’s leadership.
He cited the provision of modern military hardware and equipment, as well as timely salary and allowance payments to military personnel, as key factors in improving morale and security capabilities.
“Under President Tinubu’s leadership, we are witnessing a renewed commitment to the safety and well-being of all Nigerians,” Matawalle said, urging citizens to recognise the positive changes taking place.
The Minister’s statement is a strong show of support for the President amid ongoing public debate over his economic agenda.
