NDDC Honours 227 Staff with Long Service Awards

Port Harcourt, Nigeria – The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) has celebrated the dedication and service of 227 staff members with a long service award ceremony at its Port Harcourt headquarters.

The awards recognised employees who have served the commission for 10, 15, 20, and 30 years.

Managing Director Dr. Samuel Ogbuku lauded the awardees, emphasizing the importance of staff development and growth within the NDDC.

“Your dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence are genuinely inspiring,” he stated, adding that the awards aimed to boost morale, encourage career progression, and foster a culture of excellence.

He specifically thanked the staff for their contributions to the development of the NDDC and the Niger Delta region.

The breakdown of awardees, according to the NDDC Director of Administration and Human Resources, Mr. Patrick Ekade, included 55 staff members recognized for 30 years of service, 136 for 20 years, 30 for 15 years, and 6 for 10 years of dedicated service.

Executive Director of Finance and Administration, Alabo Boma Iyaye, highlighted the significance of teamwork in achieving such long tenures.

He urged the awardees to mentor younger staff and ensure the continued success of the NDDC’s mandate.

“Let us carry forward the spirit of dedication and service this event celebrates,” Iyaye stated.

Accepting the award on behalf of the 30-year awardees, Assistant Chief Confidential Secretary Mr. Russel Ighere, advised staff to maintain high ethical standards to be eligible for future long service awards.

He expressed gratitude for the recognition and pledged to share their knowledge with colleagues. Similarly, Mr. Edga Okpozo, Director of Security and a 20-year awardee, expressed appreciation for the recognition and reiterated the awardees’ commitment to continued service.

The awards ceremony was attended by senior management, including the Executive Director of Corporate Services, Hon. Ifedayo Abegunde, who joined the Managing Director in presenting the plaques.
