Governor Otu Happy Over Remodelling Work At Library, Government House, Other Projects
Governor Bassey Otu of Cross River State has expressed satisfaction with the remodelling of the Governor’s Office complex, the state library, the unfinished Local Government Service Commission office building, as well as the Governor’s Lodge that is currently ongoing.
During an inspection tour of the projects, Otu expressed satisfaction with the progress and quality of work, stating that the design and atmosphere of the Local Government Service Commission office building would improve operational efficiency in public administration and boost productivity.
Governor Otu emphasised the importance of creating a modern and functional workspace for civil servants, stating, “An adequately equipped Secretariat will empower our workers to better serve the public and cultivate efficiency, thereby increasing governance productivity.”
He also took the opportunity to inspect the State Library’s reconstruction progress, which is being transformed from a dilapidated structure to a modern hub aimed at encouraging literacy and continuous learning among residents.
The renovated library will include new amenities such as reading areas, computer facilities, e-learning resources, and communal spaces for educational initiatives and exhibitions.
The governor also inspected his main office, which has been undergoing renovations for the past 18 months, emphasising his administration’s unwavering commitment to standards and quality in all development projects.
As part of his inspection tour, the governor also inspected a newly asphalted road in Harcourt Street, Calabar South.
“Following our fundamental mandate to restore all state assets to their intended use, I am here to monitor the progress of work. After touring the area, I can confirm that the quality and standards are exceptional.”
