Nigeria Congratulates Namibia’s First Female President
Abuja, Nigeria – Nigeria has extended its warmest congratulations to Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on her historic election as Namibia’s first female president.
The announcement came Wednesday in a statement released by Kimiebi Ebienfa, acting spokesperson for the Nigerian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The statement lauded Ms. Nandi-Ndaitwah’s victory, noting that her election as confirmed by the Namibian Electoral Commission marks a significant milestone for the country.
It also highlights the continuation of the ruling SWAPO party’s governance since Namibian independence.
“The Federal Republic of Nigeria congratulates Netumbo Nandi-Ndaitwah on her historic election as the first female President of the Republic of Namibia,” the statement read.
“The people of Namibia have indeed voted for stability,” it continued, expressing confidence in the continued strong bilateral ties between the two nations.
The Nigerian government emphasised its commitment to strengthening the already robust relationship between Nigeria and Namibia during Ms. Nandi-Ndaitwah’s presidency, working together for the mutual benefit of their citizens.
The statement highlighted the “historic, strong, and vibrant relationship” that already exists between the two African nations.
