Nigerian Students Honour Julius Berger For Nationwide Quality Work
Abuja, Nigeria – The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has lauded Julius Berger Nigeria Plc for its significant contributions to national development through high-quality construction projects and Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.
During a ceremony earlier this week, NANS presented Julius Berger’s Director of Administration, Alh. Dr. Abdulaziz Isa Kaita, with an Award of Excellence in Nation Building.
NANS Coordinator Daniel Friday Egga praised Julius Berger for its long-standing presence in Nigeria, citing the company’s involvement in numerous construction projects across the country.
“For some of us, we grew up hearing about Julius Berger; we grew up seeing the enormous work Julius Berger has put into developing our country Nigeria,” Egga stated.
He highlighted the consistently high quality of Julius Berger’s work, emphasizing its positive impact on the nation.
Egga also commended the company’s CSR efforts, particularly its academy for training young Nigerians in construction skills.
He stressed the importance of recognizing organizations that invest in youth development, stating that NANS actively monitors organizations and individuals contributing to national progress.
The student body, he added, runs various sensitization programs across campuses to combat issues like drug abuse and cultism, adopting a “catch them young” philosophy.
The award, Egga explained, represented the gratitude of over 40.1 million Nigerian students for Julius Berger’s decades of service and commitment to national development.
He emphasized the students’ continued support for the company.
In his acceptance speech, Kaita expressed gratitude for the recognition.
He highlighted Julius Berger’s history in Nigeria, dating back to 1965 with the construction of the Eko Bridge in Lagos.
He underscored the company’s commitment to partnering with Nigeria for progress, citing its various CSR activities and the training academy as examples of its dedication to national growth.
Kaita concluded by stating, “We delight in transforming challenges into tangible opportunities.”
The event was attended by several NANS executives and Julius Berger representatives, including Head of Corporate Communications James Agama and Media Relations Manager Emmanuel Isibor.
The award ceremony served as a powerful testament to the positive impact of Julius Berger’s work and its contribution to Nigeria’s development.
