Leading Economist To Headline Realnews’ 12th Annual Lecture Series On Tuesday
Lagos, Nigeria – All are ready for the 12th edition of the Realnews annual lecture series, scheduled for tomorrow, November 19th, 2024, at the Sheraton Lagos Hotel and Towers, Ikeja.
The event will feature renowned economist Karim El Aynaoui, Executive President of the Policy Center for the New South (PCNS) in Rabat, Morocco, as its guest speaker.
El Aynaoui arrived in Lagos earlier today and was warmly welcomed by Realnews officials, including Publisher/Editor Maureen Chigbo, at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport.
He was accompanied by Abdelhak Bassou, a senior fellow at PCNS and Executive Vice-President of Mohammed VI Polytechnic University.
This year’s lecture, themed “Africa in Shifting Geopolitics: Matters Arising on Demography, Technology, Artificial Intelligence, National Resources,” promises a timely and insightful discussion.
El Aynaoui’s expertise in social and economic public policies in Africa and the Global South, honed through his work at the Moroccan think tank PCNS, makes him ideally suited to address this critical topic.
The Realnews anniversary lecture series, established to commemorate leading thinkers and enrich national discourse, boasts a distinguished history.
Past speakers include prominent figures such as former President John Dramani Mahama of Ghana, former CBN Governor Professor Chukwuma Charles Soludo, and Dr. Edwin W. Harris Jr., Director-General of GIABA.
The series has tackled diverse issues ranging from illicit financial flows and drug abuse to the challenges of political transitions and COVID-19 management.
Tomorrow’s lecture promises to be another significant contribution to the ongoing conversation about Africa’s development and its place in the evolving global landscape.
