Powerful Short Film ‘Voices Within’ Premieres In Abuja, Shines Light On Domestic Violence

Abuja, Nigeria – November 28, 2024: Daurama Foundation is set to premiere its powerful short film, Voices Within, on November 30th at the Silverbird Cinema, Jabi Lake Mall, Abuja at 4:00 PM.

This evocative film, produced by Take 7 Media and directed by Bem Pever, forms a central part of the Foundation’s initiatives for the annual 16 Days of Activism campaign, a global effort to end violence against women and girls.

“Voices Within” tells the deeply moving story of a young girl who witnesses a cycle of abuse in her home.

Seeking solace, she turns to writing, using storytelling to express her pain and resilience while dreaming of a safer world.

The film also sheds light on her mother’s plight—a survivor of abuse who, due to a childhood disability, struggles to defend herself physically.

This narrative amplifies the voices of those often silenced, urging audiences to stand in solidarity against violence.

The film boasts a talented cast of Nigerian actors, featuring standout performances by Grace Daudu, Mbasity Jesse, Tolu Asanu, Franca Igwe, Lanzy Janpak, Hoomsuk Alex Jibrin, Austin Mangs, and Senenge Abela.
